Kennel April DesignI am Elina Pitkänen and I live in Järvenpää, 40 km from Helsinki, with my partner and our pack. I got my first Golden in 2000. Ada (SE TR CH Karvin Hulabaloo) came to us to be a familydog. I somehow got into Year 2006 I got my second dog, Rottweiler Tarmo (Desiwood’s Bronco). Tarmo has been the best teacher along with Ada, when it comes to learning the dogs’ mind. Sara (SE SH CH SE TR CH Dream Max Shirley Clamp) came to us in 2007, at the age of 2,5 years. She had grown up with Veronika Ivarsson, kennel Gingsjön, Sweden. When I got Sara, my thought was to get a broodbitch and in 2009 Sara gave birth to 5 puppies – the first April Design puppies. Time will tell how Sara’s line will go on. Tiuku (April Design Dirty Diana) stayed at home from my first litter. In 2009 our pack grew with 4 other members when my partner moved in: Spanish Waterdogs Alli (FI CH Zorrazo Pantera) and Sella (FI CH Yakarta de Valdeperales) and Chinese Cresteds Rumba (Zorrazo Jadis the Witch) and Carmen (Valanyan High Fashion). I passed the Finnish Kennel Club's breeder course in October 2007 and got my affix in April 2008. April Design comes from my first dog Ada who was born in April. In our breeding we focus on Golden Retrievers and Spanish Waterdogs. Our goal is to maintain the original characteristics of a Golden Retriever and a Spanish Waterdog and to develop the breed by the breed standard. Our purpose is to avoid the hereditary diseases and the dogs we use for breeding are always examined. We wish to maintain a strong bond to our puppies and to their families and we will choose every family for every puppy with good care.
